Installing MobileFirst Platform Server v7.1 on WAS ND - Step 11

OPERATIONAL ANALYTICS

Okay, so now it was at the point of installing Operational Analytics.

All that really means is adding a New Enterprise Application to the WAS ND environment. In essence, adding a .ear file to WAS.

There IS so much That CAN BE Designed and Planned in relation to the Setup of the Analytics servers, That you Are better of checking out this posting to figure out what you really need to BE Doing for your Setup.

For here though, all we are interested in is just installing and configuring the basics.

Normally, this would be installed within it's own WAS ND environment, but for demonstration purposes we'll install it into the same VMWare that we've currently been using.

Here's how we install the ear file -. As the .ear file is quite large it takes a while for it to import I could have cut the video short, but I show you the URL I linked to above and to the Elastic search web page too:

Now that we have imported the .ear file we need to configure it:

How do we know it is running? Here we check what port it is running on and you do remember what the context root was set to for logging in and seeing the dashboard?

That's it for the server-side. The MFP Server URL is used by the Mobile application to talk between the device and the MFP Server. The MFP Server will then forward on the information to the Analytics Server (once you've configured it to do so in the worklight.properties project file or in your .js code)
